What Do You Not Want Your Child To Find Out About?

  • What do you do that you would prefer no one find out about?
  • Things kept in the dark are dangerous for you and your child.
  • Things kept in the dark control you.
  • “It won’t hurt anyone as long as they don’t find out.” is a lie.
  • The sooner you bring what you’re doing to the light, the less consequences there will be.

The Difference Between Being Responsible For Your Child And Taking Responsibility For The Relationship With Your Child

  • You are responsible for your child. You kinda have to be…legally speaking. You provide food, shelter, and clothing for them.
  • We even pat ourselves on the back when we’re extra responsible for our child…we provide a nice yard, camp, experiences, electronics, nice clothes, etc.
  • But do you take responsibility for the relationship with your child?
  • What are you doing to grow the relationship between the two of you?
  • What conversations are you having to better your relationship with them?
  • If you don’t take responsibility for the relationship, they won’t. They’re a child.

Help Your Child Play More

  • For an adult, work is our work.
  • For a child, play is their work.
  • Work is important for all people…it’s how we feel accomplishment, it’s how we learn, it teaches us responsibility, it builds self-esteem, etc.
  • Help your child play more…by themselves and with others.
  • Your child isn’t just playing; they’re working.
