Are You Sacrificing Your Child For Your Image?

  • We care about our image. We want people to view us in a favorable way. There’s nothing wrong with that.
  • But we can take our image too far. We can care too much about how others view us. Would others…your child…say you spend too much time or money on or experience too much stress concerning your image?
  • Do you care too much about your…
    • physical image (your clothes, your body, chasing trends, etc.)
    • social image (trying to be cooler or younger or richer or…)
    • emotional image (the appearance of perfection and control, got it all together)
    • spiritual image (you have no questions and no doubts)
    • family image (we’re a happy family all the time)
  • Chasing an image sets you up for failure. Every time you think you’ve achieved the image you want, the image you want changes. And you’re slowly telling yourself that you’re not good enough.
  • Chasing an image sets your child up for failure. It takes your time and attention away from your child…the two things they need the most from you. And it teaches them to not be happy and content with who they are.
  • Get better. Live your life in a way that causes others to view you in a favorable way. But be content. Be the best version of you…not someone else.
